chibiguri (ちびぐり)

My sister's birthday came and went last week, and somehow we forgot to send her a card. So last night, Amaguri, chibiguri and I sat down to create a home-made card in lieu of something out of a box. This endeavor involved lots of stickers, chibiguri's artwork, a fine point Sharpie pen and a fair number of laughs.

Once we had the basic card created, chibiguri decided to put names to the various sections of the card, "This is Auntie, this is Uncle Cowboy, this is Mommy' etc. However, after we had got through the initial sequence, he decided to exercise his newfound fluency and explanding vocabulary. He held up a few stickers of a particularly unique composition. We asked him what these particular stickers signified, and without hesitation he responded, "Auntinocerous!"

So, sister, dear, your new official designation is now Auntienocerous. You'll have to ask chibiguri what that might signify- I am rather at a loss.

chibiguri has learned a new expression. As we were all in the process of going to sleep last night, he reached out and tapped me on my cheek. 'Cute', he said. Naturally, I was surprised. 'Did I just hear you call me "cute"?' I inquired. chibiguri nodded emphatically. 'Cute', he repeated. Her then proceed to slide over and give me a kiss on the cheek! meanwhile amaguri was quietly chuckling. I suspect she may have put chibiguri up to it.

So I asked chibiguri, 'What about Mom?'. He wriggled across the bed to amaguri;'s pillow, and proceeded to execute the exact same maneuver with her. He tapped her cheek, said 'cute' and gave her a kiss.

It is really amazing how someone can become so special and when they give you the knowledge that they actually lve you, how that can affect one- even an old skeptic like me. I am so happy that chibiguri is in our lives, and I look forweard to seeing what he will do next.

When you hear the word 'apple house', what do you usually think of? Houses filled with apples? A clothing brand? Well, if you are chibiguri, you are thinking of applesauce! yes, chibiguri has added a new word to his arsenal, and it is one that surprised his parents.

I came home from the office yesterday to be informed by Amaguri that chibiguri had added a new word to his vocabulary. I anturally asked what word that might be and was informed 'apple house'. I enquired as to what that might refer to, and was told that somehow chibiguri hass associated one of his favorite dishes (appelsauce) with the word 'apple house'. So when we were eating dinner, I asked chibiguri if he wanted some apple house. He responded enthusiastically, and headed for the cupboard where the applesauce resides.

I can't wait to see what he adds next to his vocabulary,
